Most of today’s shoppers at ‘The Original’ Ron Jon Surf Shop in Ship Bottom are too young to remember the enigmatic, visionary founder, who passed away Sept. 6 at the age of 88, and his complex history on Long Beach Island.
“Ron DiMenna (Ron Jon) was a legend,” said Tom Romeo, a former employee, friend and LBI business owner. “Not only was he a visionary, he had the drive to see his ideas through.”
