Of the 12 restaurants signed up for this year’s Chowder Cook-Off, Oct. 5, four are brand-new to the competition: Dolce Liberta and Element, both in Manahawkin, Isola Italian Trattoria in Beach Haven, and Lighthouse Restaurant and Grill in Surf City. The first three will submit New England/white varieties, and Lighthouse will enter its Manhattan/red.
The new white entrants will go up against Beach Haven’s The Chicken or the Egg and Country Kettle Chowda and Manahawkin’s Mud City Crab House.
