To the Editor:

The lights have dimmed on Broadway – not in New York, but in Barnegat Light. Sherry Schnepp has walked off the great stage of life. She is not among us, yet her lessons of life remain within the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing this grand woman of the theater.

Little ones had that connection first. Soon the teens became a new complement to her family. The evolution of growth grew into the adult division of Our Gang Players. All facets of life with its music and challenges sparked a new venue for Sherry. Now parents were the new students for Sherry.

The pulse quickened as each group learned that families must pull together for success. Discipline was key. Sets were built, roles were cast, light and sound technicians were crucial.

Sherry made it a clear message: “No one is a star.” Everyone has a role to play. Know your responsibilities, be on time, be prepared, work hard, and know the reality will happen.

Each person was a piece in that glorious puzzle – “life at any age.” Finally, after months of following those rules, magic happened. Fearful souls felt the power of encouragement, friendships forged, and a bond of working as one was evident. Creative energy was real.

This is the joy Sherry evoked from her family – Our Gang.

Our daring and determined woman of the theater was a Broadway hit. She did more to teach life’s lessons than books or psychologists.

God bless you, Sherry Schnepp. You are now part of the great heavenly production. Fred and Diana greet you as you join the feature, “Forever More.” You are a gracious lady who taught me much about life, one big kid who loves you.
