In football, there’s an expression that when a key player gets injured, it’s “next man up.”
In Barnegat High School’s case, the “next man” is senior Ricky Gerena, who will have to step in at quarterback for fellow senior Cinjun Erskine, who suffered a leg injury in last Friday night’s 40-17 loss on the road against Matawan.
