The Atlantic Ocean and its bays and inlets aren’t the only waterfront in Southern Ocean County. There are ponds, lakes and rivers – well, at least streams and brooks – in the area as well, and they, too, offer plenty of recreational opportunities, including fishing.

The N.J. Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Fish and Wildlife says there are over 400 publicly accessible lakes, ponds and reservoirs in the state, as well as miles of public streams and rivers.
