As another fall storm was bearing down on the Island last week, Ship Bottom’s emergency management coordinator praised the dedication of borough employees and volunteer first responders for their efforts during the Columbus Day weekend nor’easter.

“I’m sure there are people with criticism and boohoo, boohoo, and this and that,” said Joe Valyo, a career first responder. “But all things said and done, they did a tremendous job pre-storm, during the storm and post-storm.
