As the seasonal lifeguard presence along local waters comes to an end, the High Point Volunteer Fire Co. in Harvey Cedars is adding a new tool to its water rescue equipment: the Dolphin 3 Pro, a remote-controlled water rescue drone manufactured by Ocean Alpha.
Unlike a traditional rescue craft, the Dolphin 3 Pro can be deployed quickly and operated remotely from shore, sending flotation assistance toward a person in distress without immediately putting a rescuer in the water.
