It’s been an obsession of mine to seek out obsolete words that have become mummified from lack of usage. I’m not the only one exploring thusly; some folks have made an academic career out of looking into wayward words.
Word archaeologists hang within the esoteric realm of etymology, the study of words old and new. By comparison, I only dabble in such high-browed wordage look-abouts, merely seeking words that resonate with weirdness.
