The current government shutdown and subsequent disruption of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will impact thousands in Southern Ocean County; according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, nearly 60,000 Ocean County residents receive SNAP benefits. For those in need of food or assistance in the Tuckerton and Little Egg Harbor areas, there are a number of food pantries and organizations available.
Tuckerton Food Pantry, located at 148 North Green St., is open Mondays and Saturdays from 10 a.m.
