The al-Ahli Arab Hospital is the only functioning hospital left in northern Gaza.
It is rather amazing that it is still open. It has been hit by Israeli airstrikes numerous times, including in October 2023 and April 2025, forcing temporary closures and evacuations. It currently operates at a significantly limited capacity due to damage from airstrikes, as well as ongoing shortages of fuel, medicine and specialized staff. Its intensive care unit, for example, has only three beds.
