At its Nov. 10 meeting, the Beach Haven Borough Council adopted an ordinance regulating private dune walkovers. The seasonal walkovers are rolled-up mats that are 4 feet wide and vary in length from property to property. They extend to the toe of the dune, where the dune meets the flat beach.
According to the ordinance, walkover renewals will be due by April for a $100 fee. After April 1, the cost is $500, and no applications will be accepted after July 1.
