An $8.4 million N.J. Department of Transportation dredge project in Barnegat Bay is reshaping navigation in the waters around Long Beach Island, with crews now in their fifth month of work and a significant stretch of line of pipe running north to south from Harvey Cedars.
“Dredging operations outside of Kinsey Pond (known locally as Kinsey Cove) have been completed and the bay was dredged to 5 feet plus 1 foot over depth,” Liz Galamba, an NJDOT public information officer, said late last week.
