To the Editor:
I am writing on behalf of the Barnegat Friends (Quakers) and other concerned Americans and Christians about the goals of the Christian nationalism movement. This movement falsely asserts that the U.S. was founded as a specifically Christian nation, that it is necessary to be a Christian to be a true American, and therefore Christianity should be favored and actively supported by the state.
