For most of the last 30 years, the Barnegat Township Committee has either been all-Republican or had a Republican majority. In the Nov. 3 election, two Democratic candidates hope to break that streak.

Running for three-year terms are Marianne Clemente and Cassandra Licata-Link. Clemente, who is president of the Barnegat Democratic Club, is a retired Wall Street bank vice president with more than 30 years of experience managing financial operations, budgets, controls and complex organizations.
