To the Editor:
The borough of Ship Bottom has proposed an ordinance adding considerably restrictions and fees to short-term rentals. We have owned a home in Ship Bottom for 25 years and we have never rented. Still, we believe this is a very damaging ordinance.
We can only assume it is in response to a small, vocal group who have had bad experiences with renters, such as noise and parties or too many residents. These are valid complaints but should be addressed by the police, not by a repressive ordinance.
