I am writing to address the misrepresentation and misquotation of my statements in the article titled “Mayor’s Selection Divides Commissioners in Harvey Cedars” (7/12).

As the commissioner of revenue and finance in Harvey Cedars since 2000, my foremost responsibility has been to attentively listen to concerns and complaints and make decisions that best benefit our community; the mayoral title does not hold that sole responsibility.
