A few years ago, Alyson Naughton and Lina Aulson often sat bayside at Barnegat Light Yacht Club, slapping their hands together “Pattycake” style during the breaks between swim meet races. During the Barnegat Light Ocean Mile Swim on July 26, they turned to “The Lorax.”

“We started singing ‘Let It Grow’ at one point,” said the 13-year-old Naughton. “We were kind of bored and needed to think of something else.”
