Gaspard-Gustave de Coriolis. Boy were we ever cursing his name last week!
Coriolis was an 18th Century engineer and mathematician. And thanks to my friend, science guy and fellow surfer Sam Candio, we spat whenever his name crossed our lips. Coriolis discovered the idea of kinetic energy. Probably a typical Frenchman, a bit of an ego, kind of condescending. I’m sure his friends never heard the end of it.
