Angelina Colavita made history at Holmdel Park on Nov. 8. The sophomore runner became the first from the Barnegat High School girls cross country program to earn a position in the NJSIAA Meet of Champions.
Colavita finished 14th overall during the Group 2 meet, crossing the line in 19:41, tying with Leonia freshman Eleanor Jang, good enough for a wild-card spot.
To qualify automatically for the season finale, runners had to place among the top 10 in their respective group races.
