Stafford Township will host initiatives related to car safety and environmental stewardship on Saturday, Oct. 17, open to all residents.
Rescheduled due to the nor’easter late last month, the Stafford Township Police Department’s Car Seat Safety Event will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Stafford Township Municipal Complex.
During the event, two Stafford Township police officers, certified as child passenger safety technicians, will be available to provide hands-on assistance and answer questions about proper car seat use and installation.
Appointments will be scheduled in 15-minute time slots, with two vehicles per slot, and at those times officers can help with proper installation, show how to adjust the seat as your child grows, discuss safe products and accessories and answer any questions about car seat safety.
Please bring your car seat, unboxed, the car seat manual, your child, if possible, and a clean back seat so officers can easily access the installation area.
Registration is required, and a time slot can be reserved by filling out the form online at form.jotform.com/Stafford_PD/CSS1017.
Help Clean Up the Neighborhood
Looking for a great way to get outside, give back and make a difference in Stafford Township? Join the Green Team for the upcoming Neighborhood Cleanup at Hidden Pines Park, aka Forecastle Basin, Oct. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m.
The Green Team invites residents, families, friends and neighbors to come together for a morning of fresh air, community connection and environmental stewardship. Every piece of litter collected helps preserve the beauty of the parks and prevents debris from making its way into local waterways.
Parking is available off Breakers Drive, in the gravel lot behind Ocean Community Church on Route 72.
Cleanup supplies will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring bug spray, sunscreen and water.
Registration is not required, but extremely helpful. Signing up ahead of time helps the Green Team estimate attendance and ensure it has enough supplies. The cleanup is rain or shine.
