Harvey Cedars summer activities come to a traditional end with the catboat races on Sunday, Sept. 5, off Sunset Park. The rain date is Sept. 6

The event begins with a skippers meeting at 12:30 p.m. at the park near the water tower, followed by races beginning at 1 p.m. An awards ceremony follows; refreshments will be available.

Robert Rue, event coordinator, said there are three categories with the single-sail crafts: 14-foot “lil cats,” 16-foot “bobcats” and 18-foot “fat cats.”
