Researchers studying bird migrations have come upon some eye-opening findings regarding how birds view the world around them.

Using advances in ocular science, Dominik Heyers, a biologist at the University of Oldenburg, surmises that the viewfields (my term) of birds contain markers, what amount to onboard compass points. These are actual images a bird incorporates into daily life without, well, batting a feather.
