BEACH FREEZE: The dog days of a Beach Haven summer couldn’t seem farther away as a thick layer of snow blankets Fantasy Island Amusement Park. Instead of an ice cream-induced brain freeze, a different type of freeze is happening in Ship Bottom. The playground in Surf City almost looks as if it has a new ice rink as it borders the frozen Barnegat Bay. Water slides at Thundering Surf are a chilling reminder of warmer days.
