Southern Regional boys golf coach Jeff Reilly always reminds his players they can’t control anybody’s play but their own, and it’s a great mantra to live by when out on the links.

When it’s you against the conditions, fairways and greens, the only thing that truly matters is how you make your shots. It’s best not to worry much about the next guy. The goal is to shoot as low a round as possible. If the other guy happens to do better that day, there’s not much you can do to change the result.
