Summer is in full swing on Long Beach Island and nightlife is hopping even on rainy days. The days are growing longer, and many of our favorite local cover bands have taken earlier shifts to make way for late-night party bands.

But a rejuvenated independent music scene has taken root in the last few years, and original bands (both local and touring) have been given a creative platform and, most importantly, listeners are tuning in.
