It wasn’t a huge surprise when the Barnegat High School girls volleyball team defeated Southern Regional in the second round of the Shore Conference tournament this past Friday. After all, Barnegat went into the match with a sterling, 20-1, record and was seeded second in the tourney while Southern was 14-10 and seeded seventh. The Bengals were ranked third in the Shore Conference by the Star-Ledger while the Rams were ranked seventh.
