After its attention-grabbing journey across Manahawkin Bay, a former Surf City home reached its final Eagleswood resting spot on solid ground Monday morning. Owner Herschel Abbott watched in anticipation as the house was gradually moved off the barge into its permanent home, a vacant piece of property on Cedar Run Dock Road that he’s owned since 2001.
“After all the stress, it feels great,” he said, finally seeing his home in the spot he’d envisioned for years.
