The Barnegat High School Bengals varsity baseball team’s quest of aNJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 crown fell by the wayside May 22 with a 4-0 loss on the road at Glassboro in a quarterfinal contest. The Bengals, who earlier in Maywon the B-South championship, finished the season with a 15-11record.

“We had runners on base, but we couldn’t get the big hit to drive anyone home,”said head coach Dan McCoy. “There weren’t enough quality at-bats. We had too many ground-outs and pop-ups.”
