Barnegat High School’s Matt Xiques had a heck of a finish to his junior season on the bowling alley.
Following a regular season during which he averaged just north of 192, the Bengals’ anchorman barely squeezed into the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions after tying for 19th and winning a two-frame roll-off at the South Jersey sectional tourney. But once in the big show on Feb. 14, Xiques proved his worth among the state’s best, finishing 14th overall.
