Barnegat Light Beach Patrol took a sort of home-ocean-advantage as it won the 53rd annual LBI Lifeguard Tournament. While it was located on 17th Street in Ship Bottom, the folks from the north end were hosting it. These guys and gals dominated, blowing out the competition with 121 points.
“I know this is like the Super Bowl for the guards here – every year,” head judge Scott Reynolds said. “This is the big event of the year.”
