Storms held off and 150 swimmers crossed the finish line in the sand at last year’s Barnegat Light Ocean Mile Swim on LBI’s north end. At this summer’s fifth annual installment of the event, set for Saturday, July 27, organizers believe they’ll see even greater participation.
Register online now at hlmsports.com/barnswimol13.htm to join the ranks of the competitors, or come out to cheer on the swimmers. Online registration – $20 race fee plus a $2.50 sign-up fee – closes at 10 p.m. this Thursday.
