Ever since her freshman year, Stephanie Butler has been a mainstay on the Barnegat High School girls softball team. Next year, the shortstop will be taking her talents to Villanova University; the Lady Bengal senior has signed a letter of intent to play at the Big East school in Philadelphia.
“She’s our first girls softball player to be going to a Division 1-A program,” said John Germano, athletic director.
