When the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Co. held its “Stop, Drop and Run” 5K and 10K event on Labor Day weekend last year, Tropical Storm Hermine was looming in the distance, threatening to pummel the Jersey Coast with high winds. However, Hermine fizzled before going off the North Carolina coast, leaving the area out of harm’s way.

This year, the fire company had to watch out for remnants of Hurricane Harvey, which produced some moderate rainfall in the afternoon and evening on September 2nd.
