After drawing the second seed for the NJSIAA South Jersey Group C tournament, Barnegat boys swim team coach Emily Cherry had to figure out a way to adjust her lineup so her Bengals could get by third-seeded Lacey in the semifinals. In mid-January, the Lions had scored a 92-78 victory over Barnegat.
“I had it pointed out almost perfectly, but this time they beat us in the last relay,” Cherry said following her squad’s 86-84 defeat on Feb. 10 at St. Francis Community Center.
