To the Editor:
Sunday, Sept. 3 was a sad day for Beach Haven as a tragic drowning occurred. But what I and many, many people observed was truly an amazing attempt by so many first responders. I watched as young lifeguards ran to help in an immediate response. I saw fishing boats, state police, Coast Guard respond as well.
The response by every member of the Beach Haven Beach Patrol was amazing. To see all those guards walking through the surf, under waves, etc.
