As a long-term LBI resident who was impacted by the destruction caused by Superstorm Sandy, I am concerned about new predictions that the country will have an increase this year in more powerful storms and the highest-ever number of predicted hurricanes by the the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, as reported last month.
