Surf City Councilman Joe DeBenedetto announced Aug. 30 that under the leadership of beach patrol Capt. Mark Dileo, the 12th Street beach will be guarded until Sunday, Sept. 7. DeBenedetto reminds all beachgoers to only swim near a lifeguard.
