To the Editor:

I am responding to Bill Green’s letter (“Pragmatic Record,” 10/1). While Mr. Green writes that “political debate is vital, it must be rooted in fact, not exaggeration or fear,” several of his statements can be refuted by a simple Google search.

Let us begin with his statement that New Jersey is not an “illegal sanctuary state.” New Jersey does seem to take a less aggressive position on undocumented residents as it relates to policing, based on a directive issued by the state’s attorney general…
