The redesign of Central Avenue continues to drive traffic safety concerns in Ship Bottom south of the Causeway, even as the borough council unanimously approved reducing the speed limit at a special meeting July 7.
“It’s due to the reconfiguration of Central Avenue. People coming down that now no longer have to turn onto Eighth Street and they accelerate, trying to get past the light on Eighth and make the light on Ninth Street,” Council Bob Butkus said.
