To the Editor:
On June 30 the Long Beach Island Grade School hosted an open house so the public could revisit the school one last time before its scheduled demolition in the fall. The halls were filled with former students, swimming in the sweet nostalgia of their youth, some from the very first kindergarten class in 1951.
I had the privilege of attending the LBI School for third through sixth grade from 1989 to 1991.
