The Mickiewicz household in Manahawkin was filled with celebration on Saturday, June 28 as the family commemorated 68 years of marriage for Bob and Gerry, and Gerry’s 88th birthday. But another, more unusual milestone was also at hand: Bob’s first-ever bite of pizza.

Due to his lifelong lactose intolerance, Bob has always avoided pizza. For years he has told his family and friends, “I’ll try it when I’m 90!”
