Against the backdrop of a cloudless sky, rolling waves, beachgoers and surf fishermen, the unofficial start of the summer season arrived a little early this year in Surf City as members of the Ocean County tourism commission and other guests “unlocked the ocean” to kick off the summer tourist season for all of Ocean County.
“We’ve got the perfect day for it and a great location,” Ocean County Commissioner Jennifer Bacchione said. “I don’t think anyone is going to go home after this.
