Despite a change in time to ensure a quorum, regular attendees of Surf City Borough Council meetings turned out for the Sept. 10 morning session but did not offer any comment during a public hearing on an ordinance to increase beach badge costs for next summer. The council unanimously approved the measure.
Under Ordinance 2025-06, preseason beach badges will be available for purchase at $45 through May 31, 2026. Beginning June 1, the cost for seasonal badges will increase by $10, up to $55.
