To the Editor:
At the No Kings protest back on June 14 I read a poster that said, “First they came for the immigrants, but I spoke out because I read the rest of the poem.” The sign refers to a poem by Martin Niemöller, and I am speaking out in response to the “Suggestion for Dems” letter in the July 23 SandPaper.
When has it ever worked out well that a masked police force rounds up people based on their skin color and sends them to prison camps with no due process?
