Avery Smith runs a lot during the field hockey and lacrosse seasons, and it’s a good thing. Her endurance was a benefit on Scholarship Night at Southern Regional High School.

“All that running I’ve done prepared me for this moment,” said a smiling Smith, whose college funding haul began with the Berkheiser Family Scholarship and continued in spurts for a solid 45 minutes, until she carried home nearly 20 envelopes on May 21.
