Lena Marinello was struggling a bit to keep pace with teammate Sophia Jackson during the first set Sept. 30.

“I was tired, but I was happy we won. I’m always tired,” said a smiling Marinello, after she and her second doubles partner scored a 7-6 (7-3), 5-7, 10-7 victory over Barnegat’s Kiyanna Afflick and Robyn Buenaventura to lift Pinelands Regional to a 3-2 win. “We were a little stressed after the first set, but we were determined to win.”
