To the Editor:
I was very surprised when I attended the recent special public meeting of the Little Egg Harbor Township Board of Education. Even after several informative articles in local papers by Rick Mellerup and substantial public “talk on the street” there were fewer than 50 citizens in attendance to hear and speak to the impending school tax increase of 32.6%. Yes, 32.6%.
The majority of the audience was teachers with concerns for the students’ futures as well as their own.
