Surf City’s cashless, gateless boat-ramp permit program is off to a smooth launch as officials say they’ve fielded inquiries from other Jersey Shore communities about its effectiveness while touting 100% compliance in its first three weeks of operation.

“We had zero fines or tickets, so that itself is huge to say about a program we’re just starting,” Councilman Joe DeBenedetto said July 8. “Year to date, we generated almost $10,000, $9,841, and the data that we’re getting is incredible.”
