Bill Fitzpatrick no longer runs the length of Long Beach Island for the annual LBI Commemorative 18 Mile Run. Last year, the race founder didn’t even walk the 18 miles, but rather took the shorter route to St. Francis Community Center in Brant Beach for the event’s first 12K, which drew 148 participants.
