During the summer months, the number of vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians on Long Beach Island increases significantly. The influx of people on the roads, the Long Beach Township Police Department explains, creates additional safety concerns, especially at crosswalks.
“To enhance pedestrian safety, we will be implementing ‘Cops in the Crosswalks’ enforcement details throughout the summer,” the LBTPD stated.
